Prehistoric Girl / Pradevojčica

In this play, nature is everything - the event, character, moment, beauty, friend, killer, parent, landlord… Nature is not something that ‘should just be saved’. It is a part of us. This production reminds us just how estranged we have become from the Sun, the Moon, the Earth, water, fire, plants, and animals - and how much we have distanced ourselves from real encounters with nature. At the same time, it is also a story about a brave and talented Gava and her fight to find a place in her community. In producing the play, the production team has worked to have as small an environmental footprint as possible - and for the materials being used in the performance to be reused, recycled, or returned to nature after its conclusion. As such, Pradevojčic is ecological theatre not just in its thematic focus but in its mindful use of natural materials.
