Sometimes all we need in life is one true friend. Agi is a lonely boy who moves into a new house for the 19th time. His parents don't pay much attention to him. If you ask Agi, he'd tell you that his parents wouldn't even notice if he smashed all the things in the house! Luckily, Agi, a gifted and imaginative boy, discovers the attic and in the attic lives Ema - his new imaginary friend. The play ‘Agi and Ema’ is based on a well-known novel by Igor Kolaro and tackles numerous deeply important issues faced in modern society, such as peer violence, loneliness, and the need for escapism. This is not only a story of a unique friendship but also a reflective portrait of today's world, one which is often hectic and intolerant, where basic children's needs are too often neglected or ignored in the pursuit of money and the career ladder. The production explores how, by accepting one's authentic self, one's ‘otherness’ is most definitely a strength.
