Zašto Ih Nije Briga / Why Don’t They Care About Earth
A stage play following the escape of five animals from an ever-melting North Pole. A polar fox, a seal, a polar bear, a reindeer, and a penguin are driven from their land as it disappears in front of their eyes. Together, they head south in search of a paradise for animals. On their journey, this unusual group of refugees encounters an island of garbage, an oil spill in the sea, acid rain falling from the skies, greenhouse gases and smog filling the air, nuclear explosions, monstruous shopping malls, and something called a zoo. Naive, wounded, brave, and wacky, the animals go through a real odyssey on their very own Noah's Ark in their search for No Man's Land.

About the Artists

Petar Pejaković, is a director born in Kotor, was educated in Rijeka, and studied in Belgrade. He studied Mathematics, Philosophy and Theatre Directing. As a boy, he made theatre plays in the kitchen for his grandmother and her sisters. Nowadays he makes theatre plays for children like Little Tesla, Da Da Shakespeare, How to Grow Great People, Gulliver, and Pink Panther. He directed more than fifty theatre plays, of which the best ones appeared to be the ones where theatre was used for social change: Kotor about Kotor, In the Good and the Bad Way, Der Tod des Pero Radakovic. He enjoys doing theatre work with marginalised and socially sensitive groups. For 30 years he has been continuously working in drama pedagogy with the elderly, young people and children. He is the initiator of several drama studios and theatre organisations, of which the least inconspicuous are KUD NIKUD (Where Nowhere) and Prazan Prostor (Empty Space).
