The House of Small Cubes - Tsumike no le
In a town where the water keeps rising, each time a house is flooded, its inhabitant builds a new floor on top of the old. What results is peculiar looking houses, looking like stacked cubes. Over time, most of the town’s residents have left and today only a single old man lives there. One day, he discovers his tools have sunk. Putting on his diving suit, he searches underwater to find them. Every underwater room that he visits has a song that reminds him of the past. In this touching piece, he revisits memories from the depths of the town, the depths of his life.
