Dramaturgy for Young Audiences: Theatre, Culture, and Community
Dramaturgy in Theatre for Young Audiences can be problematic, especially when working with teenagers or when using Drama in the classroom. Dramaturgy is a powerful approach that is full of potential. In this session, we will focus on the complexities of Dramaturgy and explore how Dramaturgy connects Theatre and Literature. We will investigate Dramaturgy from two dimensions: Dramaturgy as an area of study (analysis and reflection on the dramatic genre) and Dramaturgy applied to a play that students are engaging with (dramaturgical production).
