In Russia, there is currently a new wave of Theatre pedagogy that we are seeing in Youth Theatres. Based on pedagogical methods the so-called ‘Socio-Playing Educational Aesthetic’ developed by Alexandra Ershova and Vladimir Bukatov, it has been adapted for Theatres by Alexanda Nikitina. These methods are effective in deepening a child’s understanding of a show. In this interactive presentation, these methods will be presented with photo and video content being shared from the actual classes we had visiting our Theatre. The session will also provide a brief overview of other Russian Theatres and their experience in this field.
