SayNORWAY!

 

We invite delegates to a 90 min session dedicated to exploring practices of inclusion and involvement within Norwegian performing arts. The event will feature an introduction to The Cultural Schoolbag—Norway’s national touring program for schools with Norsk Scenekunstbruk and performer Guandaline Sagliocco.
 
 
Get inspired by theatre director Hilde Brinchman of Tigerstadsteatret, who will speak on their pioneering work in inclusivity within Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA).
 
Following this, there will be a presentation of "The Dark Fortress", an innovative Minecraft-based performance that successfully engages audiences aged 12+ by including participation and mind blowing digital fearures in their live theatre performance. 
 
 
Participants are invited to enjoy Norwegian refreshments during a mingling session with ASSITEJ Norway and the other presenting delegates of SayNorway! 
 
 
This session offers a unique opportunity to engage with leading Norwegian performing arts professionals and discover new approaches to inclusion and audience engagement. It also gives you an opportunity to get to know the exciting landscape of performing arts in Norway!

About the Artists

ASSITEJ Norway and Norsk Scenekunstbruk
ASSITEJ Norway collaborates with Norsk Scenekunstbruk to promote and distribute professional performing arts for young audiences. Norsk Scenekunstbruk plays a key role as the national distributor of performing arts for children and youth through The Cultural Schoolbag—Norway's national touring program.

This initiative ensures that students across the country experience high-quality theatre, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and cultural engagement. Together, these organizations champion innovative approaches to Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA), emphasizing accessibility and artistic excellence.

 

Tigerstadsteatret
Founded in 2016, Tigerstadsteatret is renowned for its commitment to inclusivity, particularly through its mobile "Tigerbussen," which delivers free theatre performances to underserved communities in Oslo. Artistic director Hilde Brinchman leads their efforts to make theatre meaningful and accessible for all, earning accolades like the Hedda Award in 2019.

 

The Dark Fortress
The Dark Fortress is an innovative Minecraft-based theatre production co-created by Frode Gjerløw and Håkon Dalsbø. Produced by Riksteatret in collaboration with Teatret Vårt and Hålogaland Teater, the performance engages tweens and teens by merging the digital gaming world with live theatre, creating an immersive experience that resonates with young audiences. Frode Gjerløw is a director, actor and playwright, and Håkon Dalsbø is a playwritght, director and agent at Songbird Agency.

 

Sagliocco Ensemble
Established in 1988 by Guandaline Sagliocco, the company is celebrated for its humorous and poetic performances that inspire young audiences. Their extensive touring experience includes participation in The Cultural Schoolbag, and internationally (currently touring in France) The ensemble's commitment to fostering a love for humour and imagination has made them a cherished contributor to TYA.
