"Talatala bilenge" (Mirror of Youth) is a session that highlights the place of young people in society, positioning them not as mere spectators in their environment but rather as the main actors of tomorrow. In a city like Kinshasa, one of the largest cities in Africa, with a population estimated in 2021 by the national statistics institute at more than 17 million inhabitants, of which 60% represent the urban youth population.
The film "Talatala bilenge", a collaboration between Cedrick Tshimbalanga and the youth of Mokili na poche, represents an investment in future generations through constructive occupations aimed at restructuring lives. This initiative values young people's contribution to cultural, artistic, and environmental awakening and promotes children's and youth rights in Kinshasa.
About a hundred young people and street children benefit from workshops in painting, drawing, grammar, mathematics, music, dance, and waste recycling at the Mokili na poche cultural center. The objective is to break down barriers of complexes and create employment for young people in precarious situations.
