Place of Intercultural Dialogue in the Creation Process
Florence Lavaud Company

Based on various experiences led – among other contributing organizations – by the Florence Lavaud Company, this roundtable will focus on highlighting the benefits of an intercultural creation process, here in the context of a theatrical work aimed at young audiences. Designed as a space for exchange and collaboration, this session will invite participants to share their views and experiences on these border areas that make co-creation possible by transcending differences.

About the Artists

Playwright and director, Florence Lavaud is the artistic director of her theatre company and Le Lieu in Dordogne. Since the founding of her company in 1989, she has focused on creating a theatre opened for all audiences, including childhood and youth. Her works, centered on themes such as childhood and difference, invite to reflect on our shared humanity. Alongside writing visual theatre, Florence Lavaud has commissioned over 20 writers, both French and from abroad. For her, these collaborations are opportunities to open her theatre to diverse forms, words, and perspectives. Her productions, such as Esquisse, Journal d’un monstre, Une Belle, une Bête, and Un Petit Chaperon Rouge, have been presented internationally (over 2700 performances). At Le Lieu, she has created a space for artistic creation dedicated to childhood and youth, fostering both national and transnational collaborations.
