The proposal presents a summary of the trajectory of Núcleo Quanta, which has been offering artistic activities for early childhood since 2010. It is an overview of Núcleo Quanta's methods of study and creation, based on four distinct and complementary artistic works, their concepts and structures, all of which involve the active participation of children in the space-time of the presentation.
Núcleo Quanta invests in and explores studies on Brazilian avant-garde artists, such as Hélio Oiticica and Lygia Pape, influences from modern and contemporary artists, also driven by a foundation rooted in philosophy, sociology and pedagogy, especially in the concepts of Winnicott and Walter Benjamin, among others.
We will demonstrate how various concepts are rubbed together in each production and aim to establish an artistic event and will present in general lines the historical context of the emergence of Núcleo Quanta's proposal, the challenges and contradictions of recent history in Brazil, as well as the bases and strategies of our research into art and childhood - along with photos and videos - which connect concepts such as “scenic ecosystem”, “chidren's performativity", "performative/performable installation", among others.
This journey helps us understand something that has been present for about fifteen years in artistic practice for and with children: the recurrence of fragments of friendship that emerge between children and artists during performances. The shared time of action, mediated by the artistic object and the expressive materialities, has generated something that we define as “interstices of friendship”, a strategy that is close to a methodology and that Núcleo Quanta has developed.
And now we ask: is friendship inherent to the sensitive experience of children in early childhood? This is the hypothesis we want to share and which drives us.
