Sonja, Cathi, and Barbara live next door to each other in a high-rise building, each on their own. They feel lonely at times but they get through the day with their quirky habits and ritualised routines. They don't even know how to get in touch with another person anymore. They wouldn't dare start a conversation with their neighbour. But one day, strange things happen. Bags and telephones suddenly disappear and reappear in neighbouring apartments. Very slowly and imperceptibly, the objects weave an invisible web between the characters, creating a connection between them that becomes tighter and tighter. Non-verbal dance theatre that explores being alone and rediscovering the light of a life spent together. Nominated for the ASSITEJ Austria (Junges Theater Österrreich) Stella Award 2021.

About the Artists

I am Artistic Director of the Mezzanin Theater Graz. My work focuses on the production and communication of high-quality theatre for everyone. I have repeatedly been nominated for the “Stella – Performing Arts Award for Young Audiences”. I am a board member of ASSITEJ Austria.

Mezzanin Theater Graz - Children, young people and adults, no matter where they come from, have the right to have age-appropriate social diversity portrayed on stage. The Mezzanin Theater has existed as an independent theatre in Graz since 1989 and stands for contemporary, high-quality theatre for young audiences and adults. The aim is to convey a variety of contemporary art that deals with social issues as well as artistic working methods and processes. Particular attention is paid to the depiction of all realities of life and the depiction of a pluralistic image of society. The Mezzanin Theater seeks encounters on a national and international level both as artists and as cultural mediators.
