Fairy Tales Reimagined - The ‘TwistedEdu’ project (a partnership between organisations in Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia) involved the creation of audiobooks based on well-known fairy tales. Adapted to address issues faced by often marginalised groups in society, Cinderella is reimagined as a girl living with a disability, Gerda (the Snow Queen) has Down's syndrome, Aladdin fights against the patriarchy, and Little Red Riding Hood is a survivor of sexual harassment. The audiobooks are accompanied by an interactive mobile app which encourages children to foster their creativity, to think more deeply about the stories and the challenges they pose, and to intervene in the stories themselves. A multimedia installation based on these stories, their audiobooks, and the interactive app will be presented by the “Hajde da…” (“Let’s…”) Group. Primarily intended for children aged six to ten, the installation will allow children to interact with both the material itself and the adults with whom they attend.

About the Artists
After a career in the field of psychology and psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Marko Pejovc focused on performing arts. As a co-author of several projects that implemented inclusive principles in contemporary dance and theatre, he and his colloquies were focused on developing collaboration between artists and members of various marginalised groups (people with disabilities, veterans of wars in former Yugoslavia, users of psychiatric services, and youth with developmental difficulties). He worked as a dramatist for several inclusive dance and theatre productions. His dramatic texts for children are produced in several children's theatres in the Balkan region. His field of interest has been in recent years - multimedia installations. The last one concerns the impact of the lockdown period on marginalised groups. The installation brought together 11 of his art videos and one interactive video work. He is one of the founders of the Group "Let's..." (Grupa "Hajde da..."), which has existed since 1999 and which, since its inception, has been engaged in empowering marginalised groups to fight for a more equal place in society. In this activity, the organisation produced theatre plays, films, performance art, video installations.
