Co-transcreation
Join Afeif Ismail and Vivienne Glance in conversation as they talk about transcreation. Since meeting in 2004, Afeif’s work has been transcreated into English and resulted in the production of his plays and the publication of his poetry collections. This unique collaborative practice to encourage and enable greater production of cross-cultural creative work has enriched the lives of people in Western Australia and beyond.
Supported by ASSITEJ for their ‘Call for Ideas’ initiative, three videos have been created that take writers through why this is a useful practice, how to begin to transcreate, and what transcreation can mean for writers trying to create work in a recently acquired language.
