‘Danny y las Tíasaurias’ is a Paper Theatre show which seeks to contribute to the development of new masculinities through the performing arts. It tells the story of Danny, a boy who spends his time going "GRRRR!”
One day, Danny is kidnapped by the terrible, horrible Auntiesauruses. In order to return home to Mummy, Danny will have to learn to name his emotions with the help of his new friend Claudia and the Dictionary of Words That Make Adults Understand Children. Along the way, he will discover the truth about his mother's situation, the origin of his own violence and how to avoid reproducing it.
In this production, the actresses manipulate the two-dimensional puppets, while the musician-narrator sounds the actions at a glance, allowing the audience to appreciate that their own imagination is the key element in bringing the show to life.
‘Danny y las Tíasaurias’ premiered at the 5th International Paper Theatre Festival in Mexico and has had successful seasons and festival performances in Mexico since 2018. Throughout 2022 it was presented as the official cultural offering for young audiences of GENDES AC, an organisation that seeks to eradicate violence against women in Mexico through workshops and support groups that work mainly with men.
